Lucky ? Star’s story portrays the lives of several girls attending a Japanese high school named Ry?? with a very loose sense of humor. The setting is mainly based on the city of Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture.[1] The main character is Konata Izumi, an athletic and intelligent girl who, despite these attributes, is not in a sports club and has low grades. Her laziness at school is due to her love for anime and video games and lack of interest in anything else. The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move on to their second and third years.

The story follows Ginta Toramizu, a hyper and easily excitable boy who has always dreamed of a fantasy world, and has been transported to one, the world of MÄR-Heaven, by an extremely powerful Dimension ÄRM known as “Gate Keeper Clown.” It was used in desperation by the world of MÄR-Heaven, which is in a period of oppression and instability caused by the mysterious reappearance of the Chess Piece Army. The “Gate Keeper Clown” goes as far as to pluck the surprised and shocked Ginta out of his classroom during a fairly typical day of school, where, being a dreamer, he is constantly heckled by his classmates for his lack of physical prowess, except for his childhood friend Koyuki who encourages him to tell her about the dreams.

The series stars a boy named Ikki Tenryou, who wants to become a champion of the World Robattle Tournament. At first, Ikki is not able to afford a top-of-the-line Medabot and his parents refuse to buy one for him in fear of it having it stolen by thieves, but he is able to scrape together a small amount of money to buy an outdated model, called a KBT. With a bit of luck, his dog Salty finds a medal, which is essentially the Medabot equivalent of a soul, in the park. Ikki quickly inserts it into the KBT he purchased. This Medabot becomes his partner in the Robattles he fights. The only problem is that the Medal they found is actually a ‘rare’ Medal, stolen and then accidentally dropped by the Phantom Renegade. ‘Rare’ Medals are powerful ancient artifacts that were discovered by scientists and paleontologists. However, this is brought up later in the series.

The story is focused on the main character, Ichimura Tetsunosuke, an energetic, short, and very childlike 15 year old. Sadly, he and his older brother are left to fend for themselves after the vicious murder of their parents. While Tetsunosuke wants to get revenge, his pacifist brother is not so inclined. Interestingly, the story develops when they take refuge working defined jobs in a special police force called the Shinsengumi, where his brother is an accountant and he is a servant to one of the groups leaders. While there, Tetsunosuke will attempt to get stronger in order to take the revenge he so desires, but he will be confronted by the hardships that are involved with becoming that powerful.

Please Teacher! is a story mainly revolving around a tight-knit group of friends in high school and how they cope with several life-changing events that are never too far off from intimate relationships. The main character is a boy named Kei Kusanagi who suffers from a very rare disease which causes a comatose state referred to as a “standstill” whenever he is under severe emotional distress.

Before the beginning of the story, Kei, at 15 years old, had fallen into a “standstill” lasting three years after witnessing the suicide of his elder sister. After recovering, he quietly moved away from home in order to avoid social difficulty due to his long absence, and began living with his uncle, a medical doctor, and aunt. Due to the strange nature of how he came to live there, Kei wanted to keep the situation a secret from his new friends for fear of being ostracized as being too old to associate with them.

Please Twins! is a story mainly revolving around three high school students: Maiku Kamishiro, Karen Onodera, and Miina Miyafuji. The three were drawn together by a photograph of their childhood home which later makes all of them seek out the house in the picture. However, the picture only has two children - a boy and a girl. Hence, only one of the girls, Karen or Miina, is related to Maiku. The only other identifying feature of the pair in the picture is that the boy and the girl have eyes of the same unusual color; a feature that furthers the ambiguity as all three of them have the same eye color.
